Ghost peppers may reach one million Scoville Heat Units (SHUs). Typical jalapeño peppers range from 2,500 to 8,000 Scoville units.
Wendy's Vice President of Culinary Innovation stated ghost pepper dishes should have powerful spiciness and "the fruitiness of a ghost pepper that you don't get with a lot of different peppers."
