According to Walmart's website, shipping saves time. "We partner with local, third-party couriers to bring your order straight to your door," Walmart says.
"After the driver picks up your order, we're going to send you an email letting you know the driver is on his or her way."
The store lets clients pick a delivery time window, although other places have speedier delivery. Walmart provides rapid delivery in these markets for "need-it-now moments." The retailer guarantees two-hour delivery with this choice.
"Express delivery was subject to availability and limitations at select stores," Walmart writes on its website.
Customers don't understand this surcharge. "@Walmart express delivery really 17.95 lol like that's so ridiculous," a March 2 tweet said.
Walmart routinely misses its two-hour express delivery window, so many find the extra charge annoying.
"Here we go again with the poor service," another Walmart customer tweeted. "I paid $10 for 2-hour expedited delivery. It's 2:46. Guess whether I got my order!"
"@Walmart why have you changed your express orders to spark drivers shopping and delivering?" How can you charge $10 for express and promise 2-hour delivery? "2.5 hours later a driver is just now going to store," a consumer tweeted on March 26.
Walmart responded to these consumer complaints, and we will update this report.
"Walmart shipping service stinks. "It's a coin flip if you'll get your items after ordering," one consumer tweeted. "Guess I'll stick with Ebay and Instacart."
Walmart organizes. "Y'all's shipment service is slacking," another tweeted. "Love waiting on a request all day that's never turned up!"
