Pringles is the world's most profitable chip brand. In 2022, potato crisp sales reached $900 million in the U.S. and helped Kellogg's make up for dropping cereal sales in the U.K.
Pringles are sold worldwide in tastes including Emmental cheese in Europe and buttery Hokkaido scallop in Japan. Kellogg's launched two of Mexico's most popular Pringles varieties in the U.S., and they're hot.
Enchilada Adobada Pringles and Las Meras Meras Habaneras Pringles, spicy chips with roasted habanero chili peppers, lime, and salt, will soon be available in the US.
Are these unfamiliar flavors familiar? They may have been inspired by Takis' chili-lime Fuego and Habanero Fury kettle chips.
The Adobada Pringles' purple packaging and stackable chips resemble Takis' Fuego Crisps.
Enchilada Adobada and Las Meras Meras Habaneras Pringles have been well-received by Stateside consumers. Pringles rates both four stars.
"Impulse buy... and I'm buying these again!" wrote a Habaneras reviewer. I taste lime and peppers. They're attractive but not insane."
The Snack Network taste testers Dave and Jeff reviewed the Pringles duet on YouTube.
The two agreed that Habaneras' peppery taste is "not overpowering" in heat.
The reviewers' favorite taste was Enchilada Adobada: "It is got the spices you put on meat in traditional Mexican food," "almost like the flavor of chorizo."
