Krispy Kreme's marketing is on par with the quality of its doughnuts. Krispy Kreme attracts customers by offering limited-time doughnut sets.
The prior month's cookie-flavored donut drop, like last year's Santa's Bake Shop offerings, was themed. According to a press release, the doughnut chain's new "Fan Favs" are now available in outlets. The new collection includes Krispy Kreme's five-year best-selling doughnuts.
Donuts, what are these best hits? A banana pudding-filled doughnut is topped with vanilla wafers. Chocolate "kreme" pie donuts are filled with chocolate, iced, and topped with chocolate chips.
The set is completed with a strawberry-frosted, strawberry "kreme"-filled donut and a green-frosted key lime cheesecake with graham cracker crumb topping.
The donuts will be available at Krispy Kreme restaurants and meal delivery apps for an undefined amount of time, although select grocery shops will sell six-packs of the whole collection.
We didn't limit ourselves to special collection donuts, as KK did when compiling its best sales list—there's no reason for the chain to delete a collection of donuts that never made it onto the normal menu.
As predicted, the original glazed one is the favorite of 48% of Mashed readers. A Krispy Kreme doughnut poll on Twitter had varied results. Many people voted for the jelly, Boston creme, and glazed chocolate.
However, all of these donuts are accessible every day. Perhaps Krispy Kreme will include a fan favorite from their special collection in their regular roster.
