Aldi may offer more generic products and a lower range than Walmart and Costco, but Americans still love the budget store.
The firm intends to create 120 additional US locations by 2023 to accommodate rising demand for inexpensive food.
Aldi opened and remodeled 139 shops in 2022. According to Aldi's statement, this year's new locations will raise the total number of stores to 2,400.
"While hyperinflation is undoubtedly driving record demand for affordable groceries, we understand that once consumers discover the Aldi difference, they keep shopping with us, even when economic conditions improves," Aldi U.S. CEO remarked.
Where will American shoppers see the retailer's bright store signage in the coming months? Aldi's statement didn't include all 120 new stores' locations, but it did indicate which markets will get additional stores.
Aldi said the openings will cover the whole US, including the "rapidly growing" Southeast. To service additional sites in Loxley, Ala., the firm constructed a regional headquarters and distribution facility.
On May 4, Aldi will open shops in Memphis, Tenn., and Thorndale, Pa. In March and April, the business opened 18 locations nationwide and two in Upstate New York for 2023.
The new Aldi stores in the U.S. will bring inexpensive food and be more environmentally friendly.
To reduce carbon emissions, the firm wants to install rooftop solar panels to new and existing stores, remove plastic shopping bags, and employ environmentally friendly refrigerants.
